Why an Open Beta?
To be completely truthful, KYBER is not complete. Players have been waiting a very long time to get their hands on KYBER, and the team felt it would not be fair to ask you to wait any longer.
Earlier this month, we put the decision to our community of playtesters, who voted 80%/20% in favour of launching an Open Beta rather than waiting for the fully polished experience.
Since this is a Beta, it is almost sure to be unstable for some players. There will be bugs, instability, and even crashes.
The KYBER Team kindly asks all players to express their feedback, criticism, and frustrations in a friendly and constructive manner.
Open Source
We need a little more time to ensure the codebase is presentable, adequately documented, and free of unnecessary code. As a result, the KYBER source code will be made available to the public in January 2026.
We understand that this decision will be divisive, and we have not taken it lightly. Our team is a big supporter of the open-source movement - we believe users should be able to see and understand exactly what their software is doing, and we've committed fully to this approach with KYBER.
See you on the battlefront, troopers! May the Force be with us all.
